Bandon Cafe

I just acquired this ultra rare Bandon-by-the-Sea matchbook cover.  This has taken me years to come by and should add substantially to my investment portfolio.  I would consider serious offers though if anybody is interested in purchasing this one of a kind momento.  By serious offers I mean $1,000.00 and up.  Thank You.

Spring not Fall

This looks like a fall picture but it was taken the week before last in southern Pennsylvania.  Trees are just barely starting to bud out and the old leaves are still on the ground.  Gave the hillsides some pretty contrast.

Philosophy

I'm recovering from 10 straight days of 102+ fever and neck lymph nodes that were like golf balls of fire.  It wiped me out as the last couple of days I have been sleeping for 20 hours a day but the fever is gone and lymph nodes are almost back to normal.  This is one case where I can be thankful for the development of antibiotics.  Anyway, here is a little Baltimore Street Philosophy for the day.

UFO

UFO mothership after having landed on automatic today in Los Angeles.  The pilot bailed out somewhere over Russia as shown in this video   When a local was asked what he thought about this landing he just shrugged and said "shit, we got so many aliens here now, what's a few more."   Meanwhile, Federal, State, County and City officials quickly converged on the site to establish a taxable value to the mothership.

Tulips

I've been stuck inside because of rain coupled with me running a high fever.  Couldn't resist shooting a still life of some tulips that I have that are blooming.  This is a difficult picture to portray correctly to my satisfaction on the different monitors out there.  I have it just the way I like it on my calibrated laptop monitor but it's a smidgen too dark on the IPad screen and a little too bright and cool on a desktop monitor.  If only all monitors were calibrated correctly. (One of the few things I get aggravated about)

The IRS Sucks!

What do these things have in common?  They are all items I could have bought with the check that I had to send to the IRS today.  So much for stimulating the economy by purchasing stuff.

Stubborn

Oh oh, this means that I am a goner!

Texas Wildfires

A friend of mine from my home turf in West Texas sent me these pictures of wildfires which have been sweeping their area in Alpine, Marfa and the Ft. Davis mountains.  It's been drier than usual out there (which is very dry) and these range fires are a real problem.  The last picture was taken from the McDonald Observatory in the Davis Mountains.

Back to Baltimore

Back to Baltimore today to head back to work tomorrow.  They call Baltimore "Charm City".  Ha Ha, somebody had a sense of humor with that one.

Azaleas

Azaleas are all in full bloom right now in North Carolina.  They are everywhere and they have to be the most popular bush out here.

Party Time in the Cockpit

Travel Day

Got off work this morning then hit the airport for my trip from Baltimore to Raleigh.  Going to spend the next 3 days at my home in coastal North Carolina before returning to work in Baltimore.  Thanks to the Southwest Airlines "hole in plane" saga there are numerous flight cancellations, one of them resulting in my being bumped from my 10am flight.  Made it out at 1:30pm though.  Sitting at home now listening to the wind howl and waiting on storms later on.

Damage

Here is a table which I received via UPS and when I saw the box I thought "oh oh, doesn't look good".  Well, I was right.  Straps around box had dug into the box and the table.  Seven areas of damage on the table on all four sides, two corners and a gouge in the top.  Not one of my most successful deliveries.
