Private

Me after my first solo in 1978.  Got my private license a couple of months later (second picture).  Both in Midland, Texas.  Once you learn to land in a blowing dust crosswind in Midland you can land anywhere.  I really can't believe that has been over 30 years ago as the memories seem like yesterday (well, maybe the day before yesterday)

Froot Loops

It's a good thing that shelf is labeled so I know what kind of cereal is there and no, this is not a picture from my kitchen.

Playing with Cameras

It's just a cold outside, playing with cameras inside, evening.  First photo is an old Leica that I have had for 30 years.  Second is one of my favorite current lenses and the last is my most often used camera, an Olympus E-PL1 Micro Four Thirds setup.  I am in love with the micro four thirds cameras.  With adapters I use my old Minolta lenses, my Nikon Lenses, Leica lenses or just about any lens made plus the cameras are so much smaller than a full size DSLR. My Nikon seldom sees the light of day anymore.

Clipper Ships

Two Clipper replicas at BWI airport.  One is a boat that flies and the other is a flying boat.  The scale model sailboat which is 22 feet long, is not just a model, it is a functional boat which has been sailed.  She is a real beauty which I would love to get out on the water.

As the responsible adult, it is up to me to be the positive role model for these teens.

First Snow

Snowing right now.  First snow of the season for me and it is in coastal North Carolina where it almost never snows.

Texas Pete

Ahh.  Home from work.  Eating a bowl of rice and thinly sliced pork strips with Texas Pete all over and watching The Day of the Triffids.  Doesn't get any better than this.
